A new sports initiative was launched last week, with the aim of promoting the tourism industry and improving relations between our local Football Federation and Brazil. The new Paradise Cup Football Tournament was launched at a press conference at Warner Park Stadium, and will kick off on October 8th.

The tournament will feature local and regional teams facing their Brazilian counterparts in various age groups. The Brazilian contingent consisting of more than sixty footballers and ex-footballers will compete in all the different age groups, which are, 18 to 30 years old, 31 to 45 years old and a veteran category, over 46 years old.
Speaking at the press conference, Eduardo Prada, CEO Prada Sports and Accredited Agent of the Confederação Basileir de Futebol, told the local media that ?Paradise Cup is a good opportunity to speak with all sectors of the island?not just tourism and not just sports?. He also went onto to say, ?We are bringing businessmen to come play, so we are putting the businessmen from the island with the Brazilians to try to make a business tour.?
Prada explained that in order for Brazilians to come to St. Kitts they would have to travel on American Airline and go through Miami or Puerto Rico, and it is very hard for Brazilians to get visas.
