Tucker Clarke Primary School maintained its first place in the 2012 RAMS Primary School Championships, at the close of the second day of competition.
The Dr. William Connor and Sandy Point Primary Schools are tied at third position with three gold medals each. The Beach Allen Primary School won two gold medals, with defending champion St. Pauls Primary as well as the Dean Glasford Primary School capturing one gold medal each.
The number of records which were broken during this year?s championships has risen to six, five yesterday and one on the opening day.
Three were broken by Olujede Bridgewater last year?s VictrixLudorum. She ran the U-11 Girls 100m clocking a time of 13.91, 0.38 seconds better than the previous record. Bridgewater also ran the 200m in that category in 28.82 effectively shaving 0.57 seconds off the 2011 record.
Breaking the 2011 U-11 Girls Long Jump record of 3.98m, Bridgewater jumped an impressive 4.22m.
