Public Opinion Could Change Culturama Entry Policies

Chairman of the Nevis Cultural Development Foundation Halsted 'Sooty' Byron said that in an effort to evaluate the Nevis Culturama Festival, the Foundation will host a panel discussion to encourage public including those living in NEVIS REAL ESTATE input on the way forward for the Festival.
Byron said that the panel discussion will allow the public to render their suggestions to a five member panel, which will include a representative from the Nevis Island Administration, an original member of the NEDAX committee, an NCDF member, member of the Culturama Committee and a youth who participated in any recent Culturama activity.
The panel discussion is scheduled for Tuesday, August 28 at the Red Cross Building in Charlestown from 7-10 pm.
Byron denied that the panel discussion was prompted by the controversy surrounding the recently-concluded Culturama. The Nevisian public expressed displeasure that St. Kitts participants walked away with five out of 13 possible places.
He said it was best to have the discussion right after Culturama while all the thoughts and ideas were still fresh in people?s minds.
