Activities Unveiled for 29th Anniversary of Independence

The following day, the Ministers will visit Primary Schools in the Basseterre area and on Friday, September 14th, schools across St. Kitts-Nevis will host Patriotic Programs and partake in the traditional Independence celebrations.
On the same day, The Department of Probation and Child Protective Services will conduct an island-wide public education outreach, and later that evening, downtown Basseterre will come alive with a Drill Display by members of the armed forces and Police Junior Drum Corps.
National Heroes Day will be celebrated on Sunday, September 16th with the National Honours Announcement, Inter-denominational National Day of Prayer & Thanksgiving and at 3pm an Independence Fun Run in which many people who live in NEVIS REAL ESTATE will be taking part.
National Heroes Day will also be observed on Monday, September 17th with a public holiday.
Independence Day, Wednesday, September 19th, will also be celebrated with a National Holiday. Lots of activities are planned for that day, starting with the annual Ceremonial Parade of the armed forces at 8am at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium.
